Check the measurements so that the total length of the first and second gutter when put together will equal the length you need plus 4 inches.
How to connect two sections of gutters.
Cut it if necessary with a hacksaw or tin snips.
If you have a straight run gable roof measure from shingle to shingle and then add.
Attach a short length of downspout to the underside of the diverter.
Allow for about 1 1 2 inches of overlap at each connection.
Install a diverter in the downspout positioning it even with the top of the rain barrel.
